got to think about these !!

From a few days, I have been thinking about the answers to the following questions.

1. Why do people not say "its a dream come true" when something bad happens ?
Don't they have bad dreams ??

2. Should a business man need to be optimistic or pessimistic about his investments??

Should think about answers to these...

my web site

News! my website is up and running.

Got the template from the internet, the template is cool.
I should say it was the design that tempted me to build a site.

Registered it with brinkster.com

Have to make some more changes and make it good-looking.

hats off to the auto-walah!!

The road:
On one side you find these traffic police men waiting to find some 'bakraa' so that they can ooze out some money from them, and on the other side you find this auto-walah who has a board "Free service to physically handicapped people..( Vikalangulaku uchitam)" on his auto. -- hats off to him, for he shows what humanity is !!

news from australia....

The past few days were the most usual ones in life. Nothing much to discuss about them. The usual "come, work, go" kinda days where nothing much has happened. But today had a good time with my school friends in a conference. The interesting part of it was that we were three in the conference, one chatting from Australia, the other from Texas, and me from the same old Hyderabad. All three of us were at the three parts of the day morning noon n night, ha ha ha

Microsoft on false ad-campaigns??

Hey. my suspicion proved right and now ASA has asked Microsoft to stop printing ads about the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of MS being 10 times less than that of Linux. They found that thier tests did not satisfy the results supplied. Strange one indeed!!

Platinum Jubilee year

Lots going on around the Windows XP SP2 update, firstly that it was released for download at 3 a.m.. Then it was the automatic installation of the firewall and blocking of ports, one more issue regarding the inability to use tabs in the IE.
Today, came across some interesting stuff regarding the TCO of Windows and Linux, the studies showed that the total cost incurred in training staff in Linux comes to more than that used to install Windows, n their learning time is minimised in Win based Softwares. A simple example is the OpenOffice vs WindowsOffice. So even free Linux comes with a cost unseen. I think the debate continues....Win or Linux. ( usability vs flexibility)
Also found one more blogging site today typepad.com but its not for free..

And my alma mater has completed 75 years of imparting quality technical education..
So the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations begin...., the first of its type in Andhra Pradesh.

even stupid things matter

This weekend went to Warangal. Had fun there.Back to Hyderabad .. work place and the week's work starts. And today, while browsing, I noticed an interesting thing that even stupid things also matter some times.Mostly coz we can learn a lot from the mistakes that made our products stupid. Some of the stupid things that made into history in the field of Computers are available at

Also trying to find an efficient Perl module for dumping and loading data structures from and to a file. Tie::Persistence works but then have to think about the readability factor.Tie::Persistence::readable makes things easy looking, trying out..................shud wait n see.

Completed coding the first module. After the review on it, I thought it would take some time to fix the bugs but finished them before the estimated time. And that was bcoz of the idea I got in the morning. Perl is coooool man! Now no bad or redundant code in the module....happy

Yesterday was a poor day for the Indians at the Olympics. The disappointing thing is that some of them were disqualified without even having a go at the competition. But tennis kindled up the hopes of one more medal !! All the best to Lee-Hesh pair..

my new CBZ!!!

Lot happened since my previous blog, but the most important one being that of my new bike.
Now I am the proud owner of my favorite bike the Hero Honda CBZ*. I cherished to have it from the moment I saw it. Feeling great about my new possession.

And then it was was this military major, Rajyawardhan Singh Rathore who made India proud by being the first Indian to win a silver medal at the Olympics. He finished second in the double trap shooting event. The event was interesting, think being a military guy favored shooting??
Anyways cheers to Mr.Rathore.

Also the TCS guys from our class are going to Trivandrum tomorrow.
Thank God I did not need to go any where.

mouthshut.com interesting one!!

This weekend, I had a better pastime with mouthshut.com. The site is really cool with some great reviews most of them a must read. It has all areas covered not leaving a single one..from consumer products to student courses and what not..juss "all you can think of".
It helped me make decisions on some products and even movies, based on the reviews, one of them being Kyun..Ho Gaya Na!. I thought of watching the film at the earliest but after reading the reviews on the movie at mouthshut.com, I decided to give a thought to that.
And yesterday was the 57th Independence Day of our country. Also it was my close friend's birthday.
